Southlake / Grapevine Botox Specialist - Dr. Bledsoe
Botox is a non-surgical treatment that can enhance your appearance by selectively relaxing individual muscle groups to smooth and contour your facial profile. The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ranked Botox as the most popular of all physician-administered cosmetic procedures in 2009 (surgical and non-surgical combined).
What is Botox and how does it work?
Botox is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It works by preventing the release of acetylcholine, a chemical found in the body that causes the muscles to contract. With fewer muscle contractions, areas that have wrinkles begin to soften, resulting in smoother skin.
How is the treatment administered?
Botox is administered by injecting tiny amounts of the protein into the areas needing treatment, such as between the brows (glabella), on the forehead and near the corners of the eyes to reduce crow's feet. The injections are administered quickly; therefore, most Grapevine / Southlake Botox patients feel little discomfort and rarely need any type of anesthetic.
How long before I notice my wrinkles are softened?
Some patients give testimony that they see some improvement as early as 24 hours after treatment. It is more typical to see improvement within a couple of days and continued improvement during the week following treatment.
How long is the recovery?
Recovery is relatively quick and involves no downtime. Other than mild swelling, most of our Botox Southlake / Grapevine patients return to all their normal activities almost immediately following treatment. Some patients elect to have their treatments on their way into the office, on a break from work, or even on a lunch hour.
How long does it last?
Botox treatment provides temporary improvement to the appearance of the skin; regular treatments are recommended every three to six months. Proper dosing is a critical component in obtaining the best result and ensuring the longevity of the treatment. Be sure to ask Dr. Bledsoe how many units you will need to obtain optimum results.
What is the cost?
Cost will vary according to the number of areas treated. DFW Plastic Surgery is pleased to offer a discount on Botox treatments on select Botox days of beauty promotions. Please check back regularly for posting of promotional Botox days.
